First-time Application
For citizens who have never held a Kenyan passport, including children born abroad. Apply online via the eCitizen portal (accounts.ecitizen.go.ke), then book a biometric appointment at the Embassy and bring the printed application form, both payment receipts, and your Kenyan birth certificate.
Passport Renewal
For expiring or expired passports. Apply online via the eCitizen portal (accounts.ecitizen.go.ke), then attend an in-person appointment for biometric re-capture.
Lost or Damaged
For a mutilated, damaged or lost passport, or a name change. Bring the old passport (if available), a police report if lost, and a letter explaining the circumstances. For a name change, bring your marriage certificate or Deed Poll and Kenya Gazette Notice.
Emergency Travel Document
A short-validity document issued for urgent travel or repatriation.

Passport fees and appointments
New and replacement passports are applied for online via eCitizen (accounts.ecitizen.go.ke); biometric capture then requires an in-person appointment at the Embassy. Fees are paid in Kenyan Shillings via eCitizen: 34-page Ordinary A — KSh 7,550; 50-page Ordinary B — KSh 9,550; 66-page Ordinary C — KSh 12,550; Diplomatic passport — KSh 15,050; mutilated or lost passport — KSh 20,050.
