Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA)
Since 2024, Kenya requires all foreign nationals — with limited exceptions — to hold an approved eTA before boarding a flight to Kenya.
Process
Four steps to approval
Create your application
Complete the online form at least 3 days before departure.
Upload documents
A passport bio-data scan and a recent passport-style photo.
Pay the fee
Settle the eTA processing fee securely online by card.
Receive your eTA
Approval is emailed as a PDF — carry a copy when you travel.
Requirements
What you'll need
A passport valid for at least six months beyond your travel date, a digital passport photo, your itinerary, and accommodation details in Kenya. Minors travelling require an eTA of their own, linked to a parent or guardian.
Who is exempt
Nationals of East African Community partner states are generally exempt. Check the official portal for the current exemption list before you travel.
